I have been very busy creating and “branding” all of my forms and such, trying to refine everything and make it all flow well together. In doing that, I have been working on re-creating my information sheets I give to clients. One of the sheets I give out is regarding family sessions.
I explain to clients there are so many reasons to have family portraits taken, but there is always one underlying “root” reason.
To capture that moment in time. To create a record of what your family is at that exact *pop* of the flashbulb. (Please pardon the dorky photography reference!)
Families are dynamic and ever-changing. If we don’t take the time to document the events in our lives, those memories can tend to fade. A photograph is a visual reminder of what we are and what we once were. Proof of our journey.
This family is a great example of why we take family portraits.
They are a beautiful family that just didn’t have the privilege of being born and raised TEXANS! Joe and Laura were Texas implants for employment reasons and decided to take a moment to capture some memories with their two adorable boys. We spent the afternoon at Landa Park and were able to not only create some neat memories, but also document the good times had by all. Honestly, neither of the boys will remember this day, except what the pictures show them. Mom and Dad can sit down with them and tell the story of chasing bubbles and sitting on the choo-choo train. How we tried with all of our might to get both of them to look at the camera while they sat in their wagon.
As dynamic as families are, so are our lives. Joe and Laura have since moved back home and are no longer here in Texas.
What if they hadn’t decided to have family portraits taken that day? Would there still be a record of the time at this neat little park in this neat little town in the middle of Texas?
Remember, you just never know how different life will be in just one year…make sure and capture as many of those memories as you can!
Have a blessed day all!
Hugs,
Holly
